1 pound top sirloin, sliced thin
1 tablespoon sherry, white wine, or fat-free broth
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon lite soy sauce
2 teaspoons granulated sugar or the equivalent in artificial sweetener
4 green onions, cut into 1 ½” pieces
4 slices fresh ginger, 1″x1 ½”
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup water
Marinate beef in sherry, water, soy sauce, and sugar for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Drain meat, reserving the marinade.
Spray a skillet with nonstick cooking spray, and stir-fry green onions, ginger, and beef until beef is browned. Add marinade.
Mix cornstarch with water and add to beef. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened. Discard ginger slices. Serve over noodles or rice.
