Chicken Pasta Stew

1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
¾ cup chopped onion
¾ cup sliced celery
1 can (7 ounces) diced green chiles
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
2 cups fat-free chicken broth*
1 cup water
4 ounces egg noodles, “no yolk” type (2 cups uncooked)
1 ½ cups frozen mixed peas and carrots

*Sodium is figured for reduced sodium

In a 3-quart saucepan, mix chicken with all but the noodles and mixed vegetables. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes or until noodles are tender.
